While other brands of flow through furnace humidifiers can use up to 6 gallons per hour of water to evaporate less than 1 gallon of water, the Hamilton 12HF uses up to 80% less water.
Unit Operation: When the humidity level drops below the set point on the humidistat and the furnace is running, the patented electronic controller activates the humidifier and small amounts of fresh water are then added intermittently. The water is pulsed onto the media pad and the humidified air is then circulated throughout your entire home by the blower fan of the furnace. The required maintenance is very low as the flow through design causes most mineral deposits to be carried away to a floor drain. The EP-037 evaporator pad should be changed at least once per heating season depending upon the hardness of the water.
